The annual Woman of Substance gala honors two Seton Hall Law women attorneys who exemplify what it means to be a successful, empowered, and strong Seton Hall lawyer. Regina will be honored alongside co-honoree Elaine Rocha, by Seton Hall Law School at the annual Woman of Substance gala which is hosted by the Women’s Law Forum. As a alumni Regina is thrilled to join the Women’s Law Forum to celebrate women in the law and the entire Seton Hall Law community.

The College of Menominee Nationa in Keshena, Wisconsin has selected Etched in Sand as it’s 2018 College and Community Read. Regina will join the College of Menominee Nation community to discuss Etched in Sand’s and Girl Unbroken’s messages of optimism, resilience and how we can forever impact the life of a child in need.
Doors open at the Cultural Resource Center at 5:00pm. Author presentation, Q&A and book signing from 6:00-8:00pm. Etched in Sand and Girl Unbroken books will be available for sale on site.

Regina will serve as the Keynote Speaker at the Children in Court Education Conference hosted by the Administrative Office of the Courts, New Jersey Judiciary. This annual conference is a grant funded continuing legal education event, which aims to provide Children In Court (CIC) stakeholders with courses in the area of CIC to hone skills and educate as to the recent developments. Audience is composed of CIC judges and non-judiciary stakeholders such as lawyers for the DCF; the Public Defenders Office; and DCF case workers.
Regina will be speaking during the 1 hour plenary session from 8:50-9:50am. This session will include Q&A.

Etched in Sand was selected as the community read for Huntington Beach Reads One Book 2018. Regina is looking forward to joining the Huntington Beach, CA community and speaking at various events related to Huntington Beach Reads One Book 2018 on March 22 & 23, 2018. Etched in Sand has been read by 8 area high schools where it has been used for reading assignments, book reports, art projects and classroom discussion. It has also been read by Huntington Beach Library Community Read participants.

Regina will speak at the South Huntington Library in person and her younger sister Rosie will Skype into the event. They will share Girl Unbroken’s messages that no child is a lost cause and the impact that we all can have upon a child in need a child in need. Their presentation will be followed by a Q &A and book signing.

Regina will again join the North Shore High School community for it’s 3rd annual Teens Gotta Believe 3v3 basketball tournament to benefit You Gotta Believe. In 2016, after reading Etched in Sand, then North Shore High School junior Ryan O’Day was inspired to help older foster children find forever homes. So Ryan contacted Regina with the concept of organizing a fundraiser for You Gotta Believe, an organization that works to get older foster kids forever homes – which resulted in the 1st and 2nd annual Teens Gotta Believe 3v3 basketball tournament benefits. In an effort to continue Ryan’s vision, as he is now a freshman at the the University of Miami, three North Shore High School juniors Matthew Saltzman, John Labbate and Jack Rosencrans have stepped up to continue the annual Teens Gotta Believe benefit.
To join Matthew, John, Jack, their fellow teens and the North Shore High School community on April 28, 2018 at North Shore High School, 450 Glen Cove Ave., Glen Head, NY please go to Teens Gotta Believe and sign up to participate in the day’s event and help give an older foster youth the opportunity to have a forever family. Regina will serve as the keynote speaker and available for book signing throughout the day. Both Etched in Sand and Girl Unbroken will be for sale on site.

Regina will be kicking off the annual Blue Ridge Institute conference by serving as the first speaker for the week long conference of human services and not-for-profit professionals. The Blue Ridge Institute, through its learning programs, leadership development, and fellowship, is one of the premier leadership development forces in the south.

She will share Etched in Sand’s and Girl Unbroken’s messages that no child is a lost cause and the impact that the Carroll County School District community can have upon a child in need. Her presentation will be followed by a Q & A and book signing.
Carroll County Public Schools has over 25,200 enrolled students and ranks as one of the top performing school systems in the state of Maryland. Instructional staff are continually recognized at the state and national levels for their performance with numerous awards.
